Sounds of 7 Cities

LeseLenz is an annual literature-festival in the small town of Hausach in the Black Forest of Germany.

In 2017, in cooperation with the publishing house “edition esefeld & traub” I contribute a mixed media installation there.

Each of the 7 tripods were set above black plans of NYC, Moscow, Tokyo, Cairo, São Paulo, Aleppo, and Istanbul, respectively.

Speakers beneath the tripods emitted sounds of street life in these cities.

LeseLenz ist ein jährliches Literaturfestival in der kleinen Stadt Hausach im Schwarzwald. 2017 habe ich in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Verlag „edition esefeld & traub“ eine Mixed-Media-Installation dort gestaltet.

Jedes der sieben Stative war über schwarzen Stadtplänen von New York, Moskau, Tokio, Kairo, São Paulo, Aleppo und Istanbul platziert. Unter den Stativen gaben Lautsprecher Töne des Straßenlebens dieser Städte ab.
