UKRAINE , 2011
In 2011, together with Alexander Royzman ( photographer and friend from New York, born in Ukraine) and Nikolai Karpan ( physicist and security engineer @ the Chernobyl NPP * when the accident happened) I made a tour from Kiev down to the Asow Sea in Crimea.
The goal was to visit und document the situation in Europe’s biggest operating NPP (Zaporizhzhia), and the remains of a NPP at the shores of the Asow Sea in the Southeast of the Crimea Peninsula (Sholkina). It was only because of Karpan that Sasha and I got access to these premisses.
* I documented the visit to the NPP in Chernobyl 2012, also together with A. Royzman.
The series starts with impressions from the 25th commemoration celebration in the Chernobyl- Museum in Kiev.
