At first glance, the capital of Eritrea resembles a time-machine which had come to a standstill several decades ago.

Looking more thoroughly, this is not the case. Whereas the elders are living in their identity of successful freedom fighters, the younger generation is eager to step forward, to turn the historically backward oriented perspective into an open and positive future.

Auf den ersten Blick gleicht die Hauptstadt Eritreas einer Zeitmaschine, die vor mehreren Jahrzehnten zum Stillstand gekommen ist. Bei genauerem Hinsehen erweist sich dies jedoch als Trugschluss. Während die Älteren weiter in ihrer Identität als erfolgreiche Freiheitskämpfer leben, drängt die jüngere Generation vorwärts, um die historisch rückwärtsgewandte Perspektive in eine offene und positive Zukunft zu drehen.
