The city of Sialkot is located in the east of Pakistan in the province of Punjab. The other part of the "Five River Land" (punj = 5 ; ab = river ) belongs to India. Sialkot is known as a "world production" site for leather goods - for instance soccer balls ( 60 millions in 2014!) and stainless steel ware - especially cutlery and surgical instruments.
I payed a brief visit to Sialkot to learn about these highly developed craftsmanships and the historical and actual background of these trades in conjunction with Europe.
Special thanks to Ge. M. Farooq, Col. Shahzad Manzoor, and Mr. M. Feisal for their warm-hearted support.
